Ceatec showcases latest IT and electronics products

MATSUSHITA Electric Industrial Co Ltd unveiled three new Panasonic Blu-ray recorders and three high-definition (HD) DVD at Ceatec Japan 2007, Tokyo, recently.

The new models, available in Japan on Nov 1, offer the longest hours of full HD recording in the world with easy operation and connectivity with other audio-visual products and video intercom connected to the home network.

Panasonic’s new recorders, which can store up to 18 hours of full HD video, are achieved through innovative technologies, including the new generation UniPhier system and the technology cultivated by its Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory.

UniPhier brings excitement to the customer with multimedia solutions that combine high-quality audio and video with low power consumption, real-time processing and secure technology.

Ceatec Japan, held from Oct 2 to 6, showcased the world’s most comprehensive exhibition of cutting-edge information technology (IT) and electronics technologies by leading brands such as Panasonic, Sony and Samsung.

More than 200,000 visitors to the five-day event were able to witness industry and market trends in the IT and electronics fields.

They could also experience new business styles and lifestyles by understanding the value-added technologies, products and services, the changes to our society, lifestyles and commerce, and the new industries and markets wrought by digital convergence.

Panasonic's booth also displayed its wide range of Viera flat and plasma TVs, camcorders, car-navigation system, mobile phones and cameras, among other things.

This year’s show featured some 20 keynote speeches by industry and opinion leaders.

The acclaimed Ceatec Japan Conference also offered numerous sessions as well as technical programmes related to software and solutions, information systems and communications networks.
