New township by I&P

Island & Peninsular Bhd's (I&P) latest township development, Alam Sari, will have a new concept: academia.

Located in Bangi, the township is surrounded by various universities, training and research centres, as well as higher education centres.

The gross development value of Alam Sari - Neighbourhood of Academia is estimated at RM1bil.

Built on one of Bangi's last parcels of freehold land measuring 432.5 acres, it will house about 3,435 residential units with a projected population of 17,000 when completed in 12 years.

I&P group managing director Datuk Jamaludin Osman said the company was very focused on ensuring that its products would make a difference wherever it was present.

“Last year, we introduced art into our township and created Alam Impian - Township of the Arts.

“The latest township takes on a different concept, academia, inspired by its location which is within the vicinity of various higher learning institutions and research and training centres,” he said in a statement issued in conjunction with the launch on Nov 1.

Jamaludin added that Alam Sari would feature controlled access points and perimeter planting to ensure safety in the neighbourhood as well as the use of road hierarchy to control traffic speed and volume.

I&P had the first sales launch of 90 units of double-storey terraces, called Ilmia, on Saturday. These homes, with built-up areas of 2,099 to 2,271 sq ft, are priced between RM248,088 and RM512,760.

An education trust fund will be offered free with the purchase of Ilmia.

I&P said sales of Ilmia were expected to be overwhelming, based on enquiries received so far.

“As such, the next phase of terrace and semi-detached homes is targeted for the first quarter of next year,” it added.
